Poems by wimsymimsy

Outside my window

petals decorate the sidewalk
a dainty kiss of love
leaves dancing in th wind
a hello from above

jays bluer than our sky
crows blacker than night
a red tail eclipsed the sun
cloud palette from gray to white

hummingbird breaks are seldom long
the honeys and bumbles buzz strong
and below it all the people walk on
Bleached

sunflower petals
bottled on the window sill
sun took his hue back
And for what?

These towers you've built,
they're made of ashes
from the potential you had.

Without a shred of guilt
you rake in the cashes,
and the people go mad.

Humanity will wilt
if we elect a fascist
who says he isn't so bad.

With integrity made of silt,
inflicting all these gashes,
boil it down, it's just sad.
They beckon me to melt with them

It's so easy to hold on to nothing
So try it for a while, see how it feels
It can be like this forever
You don't have to go anywhere
Those bags seem quite heavy
The incline is rather steep, don't you think?
Lets's play it safe and go back down

They beckon me to melt with them

(the title bookends this reversal poem)
Is "slut" just another word for selfish? (a sonnet)

She knows what she wants, she knows where to get it
She's having cravings, she'll shop around
"Excuse me sir, I'd like on pound."
"Ok, but spit it out like a cherry pit."
Her short skirt has a high slit
An on-looker looks on her mound
He tries his luck but without a sound
Her steps away from him feels like a hit
"What a slut this bitch!"
He couldn't hold it back
The words that he threw was scratching an itch
But all she heard was a quack
She knows what she wants, not just any tent pitch
Her selfish hedonism burns like cognac
for my own sanity
I must let people be
in their own misery

in their own misery
I must let people be
for my own sanity
